Course Description
A Glimpse of Child Welfare and the Role of the CASA Volunteer This course will provide a snapshot of the child welfare system, including the reasons children enter foster care, the court process for children under court protection and when and why Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are appointed to make assessments and recommendations to judges for services to meet children’s needs. The course will specifically address how CASA volunteers advocate for children in an effort to improve their overall well-being and long-term outcomes. Limited to 20 participants Instructors: CASA of the Mid-Shore Staff
